We had a pretty special experience for Halloween at the new house. First of all, these two little ones were beside themselves with excitement which made it extra fun for me. They were so excited that they had me get them ready much too early and they practiced trick or treating in the backyard at the playhouse. They each took turns being the trick or treater and saying the magic words. It was completely awesome.
They know the drill on trick or treat night...no candy until Momma gets her photo shoot. Nothing like the promise of a bag full of candy to get them cooperating.
What made it so special is that for the first time, we had neighbors to trick or treat with...sweet new friends for the kids and for us.
Our neighborhood is not very big yet so they got extra of everything and then we were done quick. We all decided to head over to a neighborhood around the corner and continue the fun.
Cutest little Sacajawea ever.
She was the cutest thing ever to watch. I know our years of trick or treating being this stinkin' cute are almost over but we will continue to hold on to what we've got and the excitement of Violet was contagious and amazing. The way she would come down the driveway after every single house and proclaim loudly for all to hear that she got candy just as she did last year and sometimes would mention the specific kind of candy she received. I never ever want to forget it.
This one was so happy to be in school this year and get to experience wearing a costume to school. She chose to be Cinderella which was convenient since we already had the dress and light blue gloves. I just made a little choker necklace and headband. We even painted her nails with a polish called "Cinderella blue". She thought that was the best thing ever and coupled with some big fake diamond earrings, lip gloss, and perfume, she was in heaven. We ended up with some time on our hands so I had a special little photo shoot with just Cinderella at the park.
We did not have glass slippers but she thought the touch of pink was just perfect for the ensemble.
Seriously, I could have watched them do this all night. It was the cutest.
Two boys in the mix. Sweet boys and good buddies. Makes me happy.
These two could only keep up for so long and began to trail behind the group but they stuck together.
That butterfly gift bag was carried by Avery and Mia when they wore that costume. I am pretty sure it should be retired as it came back with some holes this time. That bag was good to us.
The weather was beautiful, the kids were excited and happy, and we got to walk around with new friends and chat while watching the sweetest sights. I would say it was a pretty wonderful night.
